Filmmaking
The Film Track at Strasberg teaches students the essential artistic and technical tools for making films: Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Working with Actors, Sound, Editing, and Cinema Studies.
The Film Track spans two 12-week terms:
- Term 1, consists of our core film-classes as well as a series of filmed projects to be written/directed/edited by all Film Track students.
- Term 2 consists of the development and creation of the Film Track Thesis film. The Thesis Film will be written, cast, shot, and edited under the mentorship of the Film Track faculty, and screened publicly upon completion of The Film Track.
While in Film Track, students will engage in weekly Production Exercises both within and outside of class-time; exercises designed to deepen the balance between a complete technical and artistic pursuit of film craft.
Each student will leave Film Track with a series of completed projects and a Thesis Film, the opportunity to get public feedback on their work, and a certificate of completion.
